This mask is made from a single block of tree fern wood. The eyes and mouth are perforated in stylised rectangular shapes.The nasal cavities seem to have been dug out and the holes are visible on the inside of the mask.

The inside part of the mask seems to have been heated, giving the wood a different texture. Truly surprising artefact.

Ce masque est réalisé en fibre de fougère arborescente creusée et travaillée d’un seul tenant. Trois cavités sont ajourées. Une cavité nasale semble avoir été percée et est visible au revers du masque.

Le dos semble avoir été chauffé, ce qui donne une texture différente à la matière. Ce masque étonne par son expressivité.
